What is coaching?

Coaching is a purposeful conversation, with a level of stretch and challenge. It is a journey which is likely to have ups and downs. Learning and change take time. I will be with you every step of the way. You will set the agenda and define what success will look like. I will listen, ask questions, and will offer some tools that we can use together as and when these are appropriate to support in your personal exploration through the coaching process. Ultimately, coaching is about more deeply connecting with yourself, and exploring courageous choices you can make in your life to change things for the better.

Coaching does not involve giving advice, therapy or counselling.

What will I talk about?

Executive coaching is a 1:1 relationship between a client and a coach. Typically, the conversation is centred on work related projects, successes, challenges, or general conditions in the client’s life or profession. I recognise you as a whole person and therefore life will flow over into work and vice versa so the boundaries of our conversations will be fluid to accommodate this. However, fundamentally coaching is forward looking and therefore a commitment to coaching is a commitment to action, to make positive change in your life.

What benefits can I expect?

The purpose of coaching is to get you from where you are to where you want to be (your goals) in one or more areas of your life. It is future looking, action oriented and can have profound results if you are committed to making changes and taking the necessary actions to make these happen. The role of the coach is to help you to become more aware of what you want and how to unlock your potential to get there.

Each person has a unique way of thinking and interacting with the world. Understanding and clarity will develop during the coaching conversations we will have together. Each session will end with an identification of any key learnings. You should ideally allow some time between coaching sessions for reflection and preparation. The more you put in, the more you will get out!

FAQs

How much will it cost?

Our first conversation will be free.

I believe in making coaching as accessible as possible and don’t want cost to prohibit you. I work with a range of clients with different financial situations. We will therefore have a conversation about what you are able to pay. Typically this is between £65 - £120 per 60 minute session, but if this isn’t possible we can talk about what you can afford.

What is the time commitment?

Each coaching session typically lasts 60 or 90 minutes. We will meet weekly, fortnightly, monthly - this will be decided by you and the pace at which you want to work. I suggest that we meet for 6 sessions initially, but this can be extended if you feel you have more to explore. We will keep reviewing and checking that coaching is helpful for you.

Where will we meet?

Mostly I work with clients virtually.

I also love coaching face to face!

I live in South West Surrey and would be delighted to meet face to face if this is practical and preferable. I can easily travel to Haslemere, Godalming, Guildford, Woking, Farnham and other places local to these. We can discuss options, and a hybrid if possible.

When can I get an appointment?

Please get in touch to arrange an initial free conversation at our mutual convenience.

I will respond to your e-mail within 2 working days.

Who have you worked with before?

I have been fortunate to work with clients from a range of professions including in healthcare, education, finance, recruitment, the civil service, creative arts, charity and international development. The benefits of coaching can be experienced by anyone who is ready to commit to connecting more deeply with themselves and motivated to make changes in their life. I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds.

Why should I contact you for coaching?

Our first conversation is sometimes called a ‘chemistry’ meeting. This is because it is about finding out if we have the right chemistry between us to work together in a coaching relationship. It is free of charge and you are not committed to anything unless you decide you want to proceed. So please get in touch and you can decide if I am the right coach for you.
