My approach to coaching

I am compassionate, warm, grounded and calm in my coaching approach. I genuinely believe in the inherent resourcefulness of each of my clients and am motivated to support individuals on their unique journey of discovery through the coaching process. I have been fortunate to receive coaching over many years, and collaborate with other coaches in co-coaching relationships as part of my professional practice currently, so I experience first hand the huge benefits of being a coaching client. I find joy in supporting others to make great choices, find purpose and direction in their own lives.

My qualifications

I am an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This accreditation signifies my commitment to high professional and ethical standards in the coaching industry, and to my own continued growth and education for the benefit of the clients I work with. The ICF maintains high standards for professional coaches worldwide and provides the only globally recognized professional coaching credential.

I am grateful for the exceptional training I received in the Practitioner Diploma programme from the AoEC (Academy of Executive Coaching), with whom I am an Accredited Associate Executive Coach.

It was wonderful to gain a fresh perspective on the value of simplifying coaching through my Mentor Coaching experience with 3D Coaching.

Ethical practice

I work according to the ICF Code of Ethics. I embrace the opportunity to be continuously learning and growing in my role as a coach. In order to do so I reflect on my practice, ask for feedback, seek regular professional development opportunities and supervision. I am a member of the South East Coaching Group and ICF Member. I value the spaces offered by these organisations to connect with other coaching professionals, as well as learn and develop in my coaching practice.

How will we work together in the coaching relationship?

The coaching relationship that we create together is central to how I work as a coach, and this relationship is tailored to suit each person that I work with. This means that we will agree the number of sessions we will have, how long the sessions will be and how frequently we will meet. The price is tailored to each individual’s needs and means. I will ask you about how you would like to be coached by me. Our relationship is always built on a commitment to honesty within the confidential environment of coaching. I have developed my appreciation for my role in coaching as a ‘thinking partner’.

What about Action Learning Sets?

I discovered the power of participating in an Action Learning Set whilst working in a large NHS acute teaching hospital in London (UCLH). This provided an essential safe environment in which to learn and reflect on my performance. I have subsequently trained as a facilitator and been rewarded witnessing others appreciate the space of psychological safety to explore challenges and collaborate with colleagues that is offered by consistent participation in an Action Learning Set. I am thoroughly enjoying facilitating an Action Learning Set in the NHS Trust where I currently work (The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust), allowing a group of operational managers to learn and grow together.

My background

I have been privileged to work for more than fourteen years managing front line multidisciplinary teams in the NHS in major acute hospital trusts in London. More recently, since relocating to Surrey, I have undertaken work as a Leadership Facilitator for Surrey County Council alongside my coaching practice with individual clients from a huge range of professional disciplines. I currently work as Associate Director of Operations for Integrated Community Services for the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust.
